I like the r/gamedev reddit just fine. But I like the idea of an alternative existing also, that's not Reddit, so I'm trying to foster one at Lemmy.World. (Lemmy is a Reddit-like forum software that works with ActivityPub, like Mastodon and PixelFed.) Feel free to join in and post whatever! I try to keep notable industry news going there, at the least.
And today I'm asking: do you have any gamedev podcast or show recommendations?

(I still have a job now. But my contract is coming up soon and I do not want to re-sign. I want to spread the wings to something new.)

And yeah, I'm occasionally throwing my resume at a few gamedev associate/junior producing/writing jobs, but that's basically a habit at this point. Maybe design, depending. Depends on how your team defines roles, and the games field is weird.

Someone created a TikTok account with my email address. It suddenly hit me that if TikTok dies and comes back, they night list their account. (Because tech sucks and who knows.)
How do I contact them and tell them to change their email address?

Matt Haig's The Midnight Library is off to a Hell of a start. #BookStadon

I'm halfway to success. I've got the "passive" part down. Now to get the "income". (A joke shamelessly stolen from David Rees.)

Anyone know if Konami ever made good on it's contest (below) to work with indie devs to make games with old IP? I don't see any releases, but anyone know if any efforts are/were even underway?
I used to know a guy that was interested, but I think life happened, and his effort did not. Shame. Smart and cool guy. And also he was American. I think I vaguely remember it being a Japan-only thing.

Just told my boss I don't plan to sign another contract. I'm out in March.
Anyone got a spare job for an experienced TV news producer looking to get out of that industry? I have irons in fires, but it never hurts to ask. #FediHire

We can have different opinions, but I legit think Geoff Keighley just really loves games, and found a way to get other games to pay for him to share games with us.

It's tragic. Any time I'm faced with a potential big change in life, I get a strong urge to start up a new gamedev project. It's the worst timing, and it's perfectly predictable.
Also funny, I always toss out a few resumes on a lark, but another part of me says "no, you won't be happy working for anyone else." Simultaneously, I can't help but feel I won't finish anything if it's just up to me.
It's just chaos in here, I guess.

A post on a forum seemed doubtful people had issues with Skyrim on launch. (Compared to other TES games.)
I remember people really disliking the skill system. The first popular mods that were graphical (model and textures replacements.) Fantastic game, but we're talking about games. Especially gamers who grew up with a series picking on the newest iteration. I'm sure the genteel complaints I remember were nothing in comparison to the real ire out there, as I was part of a good community.

I'm looking for #ActualPlay #TTRPG podcast recommendations. Got one?
I listen to Adventure Zone depending on the arc and Dungeons and Daddies. I used to listen to some Friends at the Table but fell out of it pretty quick. Used to love HyperRPG. Shows that are hourS long are usually lost on me.

So I watched the Apple+ show Severance. Gang. I really enjoyed that.

Any advice on getting a blood glucose monitor? I'll probably look for one that attaches to Google Fit. I assume that's an okay service? (Or at least as "okay" as any Google service is?) #diabetes #diabetic
