If I ran an open source project I would focus on the basic functionality working well and being bug free (also maybe relatedly I do not want to run an open source project)

I think a sfba pixelfed server would be great but probably would require quite a few additional volunteers and that can't be me right now

I wrote a minimally edited blog post on my experience with bike link lockers, if it's useful to anyone

I'm trying a new thing where I just write a blog post instead of writing it and then posting it a week later after greatly overthinking it without substantially improving it

As usual, replies to this post will show up at the bottom of the blog post

Hmm I feel like there are issues with following someone with the exact same name as me on another server, I'm getting some weirdness with pixelfed as well as with bookwyrm

I only ever followed my friends on Instagram, would it be weird to follow random strangers with cool photos on pixelfed

I biked home via Embarcadero, but on a whim went a little farther to Fort Point, where I haven't been in many years. It's pretty cool for fans of abandoned buildings. And I guess US history, I skipped the exhibits. Also gave me a lot more photos of the golden gate bridge from unusual angles for my pixelfed (which right now I am posting photos of the golden gate bridge or the sutro tower to)

I didn't really get the Yayoi Kusama exhibit, other than as a means to take photos for social media (here you go). I did like the American Sublime exhibit. The SECA award exhibit, which is free, was also pretty cool. There was also a collection of older photos of SF that I liked.

I ended up just biking around SF instead. I went to SFMOMA and learned that the bike lockers downtown do, strictly speaking work, and maybe given that they're 5 cents an hour I shouldn't complain nearly as much as I want to

I've also been trying to make a map of car free routes in the east bay that I have/haven't biked so I can easily see them at a glance. Because I just had a list of them and I kept forgetting where the various distant east bay suburbs are

I'm not sure what software is good for that purpose but it definitely isn't Felt

I was thinking of going on a long bike ride in the east bay but my knee is slightly unhappy so trying to think of some good smaller bike rides in the east bay that also I haven't done before

There's a group on JFk telling "stopping! Rolling" at every stop sign and then "runner up" or "Walker up" whenever they see someone and it's very funny

Probably by a park opponent who dumped it somewhere, as it is not exactly easy to resell or has much intrinsic value, so keep an eye out

Pixelfed.social really seems to be struggling and I don't think it'll work without more people hosting their own servers but I'm not sure how much money and time I want to be spending on my various fedi things
