Begging text from those currently in power in federal government.

No, I don’t think so.

From my walk. I met a curious cat, who came over, allowed me to pat them gently. It’s #caturday somewhere

Success! Arts Centre is open. I spent some lovely, reflective time enjoying Hiroe Swen’s work. Very likely the last in Canberra. There’s one more exhibition in Melbourne, then she’s returning to Japan. I took many photos, will try to distill.

First Uber journey booked for me, BYD, pleasant driver. Rang home care 5 minutes later, to book journey home. Was same BYD, driven by slightly bewildered driver.

Today’s plan, go to Watson Arts Centre, to Hiroe Swen’s final exhibition, last few days. But no! Sign on the door, due to power outage, it’s closed today, reopen tomorrow. Probably go tomorrow, then.

Australia Post tried to deliver modem. They drive past, see quite reasonably there’s no safe place to leave it, but don’t attempt to deliver to my unit. Have taken it somewhere else, which is the concerning part. Will let me know where later. Am betting it’s the theoretically nearest, but inaccessible to me; LPO. No bus route anywhere near. I have an Auspost account and PO BOX, but it’s likely they won’t take it there. Last time this happened with a medical device, it took a month to get it redirected to the accessible post office.

Maybe unfairly, I blame the eye surgeon. After first cataract op, I could tell the vision wasn’t great. Confirmed by their testing. Surgeon apologised, said it might need further surgery. I asked him after the second op, would that additional surgery be needed? He said no, glasses would fix it. Well, that’s gone well, hasn’t it?

To optometrist to collect new glasses. First tried long distance- it’s marvellous! I can read signs across the street! Then reading. Disappointing, I can barely read the writing. They tinkered with adjustments, measurements, it’s no better. I’m so disappointed, almost in tears but managed not to (pathetic, I know). I have brought them home, see if anything improves. Otherwise, take them back, see what can be done.

Should teachers be criticising what foods come for school lunches? “"A child in his class, they brought cupcakes in for a birthday celebration, and it was actually sent home,"
