I say this as someone who was one of the rising stars in the local dem party in that time frame.

Someone who is one of a handful of people responsible for politicians here knowing we needed an X marker or updated gender neutral language.

Being a hero is exhausting, and unsustainable.

Back when I was involved with the dems and a bunch of other groups, in 2017/2018...

One of the biggest issues was that people would lean hard into pouring themselves into trying to change everything. And they'd burnout hard and fast.

The internet is good at fast tracking that.

I just need people to care about other people without needing to be enraged in order to do so.

Care before it hurts you, personally.

And now, go out and take care of someone more vulnerable than yourself.

And take care of yourself. You do not need to observe or magnify every atrocity in order to bear witness or make change.

Queer kids have a lot of problems, and anxiety, but they're just not experiencing quite the same struggles we had when we were 16 fully 20 plus years ago

And they... are not. They talk like hyperverbal self aware adults thinking back on their struggles. And most of these stories are set in modern times.

Look, there're dozens, if not hundreds, of reasons why a tiktok ban is both unconstitutional by current standing rules, and disastrous, and morally wrong.

But aside from all of those.
