Sleazy #Lufthansa... I can't check in, so I decide to buy a seat so at least I'm not stuck in the middle middle... Right after that check-in starts magically working.

To be clear, I've written tons of horrendous code. I probably still do. But I try to share it so that others can help me learn from it, and it turns into a teaching experience and an opportunity for growth.

Let's build a better world.

Here's another reason open source software is better:

Proprietary software let's incompetent programmers hide their mistakes. It lets malicious companies hide their evils. Open source lets anyone audit the code.

This means those people can learn from their mistakes and be better.

Since it's obviously broken, and I'm not actually antagonizing a human, we can have some fun:

The #lufthansa chat bot is really not good.

It's kind of amazing how bad their online website is, and you'd think they would perfect that before adding broken bots :/

FWIW I don't own any cryptocurrency, but I'm fascinated with the idea of a decentralized financial system that actually works.

This is driven by my increasing dissatisfaction with the modern banking system, which I genuinely think has more scams and fraud going on than anything I've seen in the cryptocurrency world.

Cryptocurrency algorithmic design idea:

Be able to set a blockchain flag that prevents how quickly you can transfer currency, depending on the amount.

For example, $1000 you could do right away, but for $10,000 you'd need to make an initial "early commit" which can only complete 48 hours later with a second signature based on the current chain (to prevent pre-signing) and so on... That window stays open for a set period and so on...

This could help solve some of the ransom issues.

I'm probably an awkward interview candidate, but the fittingly named "Abnormal DevOps Iterations" podcast show had me on last week. Here's the recording if you're interested:
