This official #AustralianOpen YouTube channel has live coverage of select matches at the tournament... with a twist: it presents cartoon-like avatars of players instead of the real footage, as a workaround for broadcast deals which often mean #tennis only being available to paid TV channel subscribers in many countries.
It includes standard English commentary though, so for blind tennis fans who don't mind TV coverage it might be a pretty good offering when radio isn't covering the match you want.

Rather than the cow pat that Apple AI is, I'd love some sort of ML model that could fix parts of dictated text that sound similar to what was intended but actually make no sense. A recent example would be dictation coming up with "on styled" (which was grammatically incorrect in the specific context) rather than "unstyled" which could've been inferred from the meaning of the overall sentence.

Increasingly convinced that VoiceOver and iOS itself would be a lot better if the Apple QA team did more testing sitting on the toilet wearing AirPods with the host device in a different room.
Related: I'm quite sick of my focus changing just because the Dynamic Island has transitioned from empty to non-empty. And AirPod microphones not working with voice control. And Siri, just in general.

If you're someone who dislikes the idea of #pineapple on #pizza but otherwise enjoys the fruit itself, does your dislike stretch to other savoury dishes that include pineapple too? For instance, would you turn down tacos al pastor, often presented with beef, pork, pineapple, and other aspects of seasoning like cilantro/coriander and onion all wrapped up in a corn tortilla? #food

Dear iOS,
When I dictated "HTTP servers", what I definitely meant was "http://servers". Great job.

There's a lot of well-deserved dislike for Bluetooth audio. But the combination of AirPods plus the Action Button on my phone being set to resume Audible is probably the closest I'll get to anytime, anywhere, hassle-free reading.

I really want to give a positive review to the host of an Airbnb Experience I attended recently. Unfortunately, I'm not sure which of the unlabelled links in their email to choose. Maybe "t3s6S0VG" means five stars? Then again, it could be "fxq2V6ci", "Sc2yVOPh", or even "sABCEL6T". And I'm sure one of those will report them and get them banned. #accessibility

In related news: When I search on Amazon Mexico, my screen reader is flooded with the text of every result which makes it crash. And Amazon is currently refusing to ship many items from the US to Mexico that they were perfectly happy to before, so I guess I'll save the planet by ordering everything from Europe now.

Amazon has added a new (to me) image/video gallery thing to product pages. For #screenReader users, it's a list of seven buttons that all say "Submit". Hope the team got a big bonus. #accessibility

I'm trying to remember the name of a #BBC radio #comedy/#drama set on and around a British train station at the turn of the 20th century. I think there were three or four series, but the cast did change a fair bit between them while the characters stayed the same.
A signalman played a big role, as did the station's (probably women only) tearoom, and the officious station manager who may've been called Marsh, or something like that.
Anyone got any ideas?

I used to have my Dropbox on my internal drive under my user profile folder. But for convenience because some programs expect it, I also had it mounted as drive L.
Fast-forward to yesterday, when I wanted to move Dropbox to a different drive altogether. That drive initially had the letter D, and my old Dropbox folder was still mounted as drive L so my stuff would continue working during the initial Dropbox sync.
So, Dropbox took the whole night to download content to Drive D; experience has taught me never to expect to be able to just copy my Dropbox to a new place and have it work. Once it finished, I unmounted the old folder at drive L, and changed the letter of the new drive to L. Then I launched Dropbox...
... Only for it to tell me that my available options were to either reinsert drive D, or relink my account from scratch. So now it's reindexing everything for no good reason, just because they decided to remove the button that used to exist to change the location when the old one couldn't be found.
TL;DR: The Dropbox software continues to suck, and I needed to complain about it. Everything else also sucks, so please don't tell me to switch to OneDrive, Google, Nextcloud, or Resilio Sync.

Heard a compelling recording of a clearly independent #blind person dealing with a destination dispatch elevator system this morning.
For someone who can independently walk to the station and elevator, and doesn't have to rely on the badly designed #accessibility option, I'd imagine the total time for choosing a floor and boarding can be measured in single or low double-digit seconds. It took this person over two and a half minutes, which is entirely a reflection on the system, not them.
Imagine this "#disability tax" adding up throughout your day. That's assuming you can even use the pseudo-accessible interface, which relied on audio of numbers spoken in English. If you're deafblind, or require another spoken language, it moves from being a disability tax to a stone cold barrier.

Quote from a website asking me to disable my ad blocker:
"I get it! I don't like online ads either. But running this website costs me thousands of pounds each year..."
It's a WordPress blog that, because of its subject matter, only attracts visitors for three months out of the year. I'd suggest they find better hosting that won't rob them.

Struggling to understand the intent behind a "Remember me for two weeks" checkbox on a login form. If it's a misconfigured public computer, two weeks is long enough for someone else to do something nefarious. On a private computer, two weeks is short enough to be annoying.
Remember me practically forever, or don't remember me at all.
