Neighbors down the road cut down a chunk of forest on their property and now there have been fox sightings around the neighborhood for the last few weeks.

Pretty sure the foxes just killed our 3 ducks. Definitely got one of them, can't find the other two tonight.

Those 4 games are:

• Enshrouded (uses Vulkan, not OpenGL or DirectX, which wine isn't good at on macOS yet)

• Helldivers 2 (has implemented detection for CPU instruction support and fails the Mac as a supported CPU)

• Grounded (crashes right at startup)

• Core Keeper (can run in a limited fashion, but not multiplayer which is where I need it to run)

I have 1100+ #Steam games of which I've only played 400+ of them, which says a lot about a lot of things

But also - there's only 4 of them at the moment I'm aware of that I can't play in CrossOver on an Apple silicon Mac or directly native

... which also says a lot

1.) they're working on a dedicated server (currently private alpha) and seems to be going well, so ideally eventually I'll be just running those on a Windows / Docker environment I already use for game server hosting

2.) in the meantime, if you have a second Epic account - can confirm that just running the host from Windows, people running in wine can connect to it and join, at least. Spun up a dummy "SomeGuy" character and parked him in a corner while my brother and I joined from Macs 😄

Hah - while I've gotten The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria up and running in CrossOver / wine very nicely (it's currently free from Epic Games right now until tomorrow!), the multiplayer hosting doesn't seem to work / run well when the host is in wine. Lots of complaints about it, can't get it to work myself.

Which is a bummer, since my brother and my son, we all wanted to play but only my son is regularly playing games on Windows directly - but two good notes about that:
