I bet there will be a flurry of statements from all the major US medical associations saying how bad crippling the #NIH is. And that it means stopping a huge range of life-saving medical research. They need to show faces of, and stories of, individuals whose lives were saved via treatments resulting from NIH funded research. Because the general public and others can better relate to faces and personal stories than they can to a lab researcher. Meetings have been canceled, and travel stopped.

I'm waiting for the day when the word Trump is listed is a psychopathy in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DMS). It'll have a definition something like:

"A condition comprising of a mix of dread, anger, fear, depression, sense of hopelessness, disbelief, and hysteria triggered when hearing the word Trump."

• OR* from a totally different angle, maybe it'll be something like:

"Description of an individual with an uncommonly large collection of psychopathies. These include: sociopathy, malignant narcissism, psychosis, is egocentric and amoral, delusional, manipulative and untreatable. Yet is charismatic in the way many cult leaders are."

This probably won't happen. But I really do think just hearing his name creates a fairly universal sense of distress.

Our cat Bones found a new place to sleep -- over my head on the top part of the pillow. He also discovered something new to do in the middle of the night. He woke me up trying to fish a foam earplug out of my ear. Agh! Apparently earplugs are great #cat toys.
