Today is a day I'm glad I dithered too long and didn't get around to buying a Bambu printer...

It speaks volumes about Waitrose that in the survey they've asked me to fill in, I am in the lower half of the age range question.
(I'm the wrong side of 50, so this hasn't happend in normal surveys for ... some time)

One of the things the Fediverse doesn't do as well as Elon's Cesspool is breaking news.
I had to find out about South Korea's shenanigans via Discord, of all places.

Just finished setting up the new guest / backup network (hat tip to @neil for the irresistibly-priced SIM).
Now to see who is the first person to ask for the password...

The irony of all this is that the tank itself if EOL and we're gonna have to rip it all out and switch to electric in the spring...

Very confusing. Flogas sent a message yesterday threatening a delivery today, and they have actually just delivered.
This, as any Flogas customer will tell you, is unprecedented.
It's also an autodelivery far earlier than the tank level would normally trigger, because they are wisely topping off tanks in advance of winter.
I can only conclude they've recently been taken over by someone who actually gives a shit.

Hmm, does Mastodon allow you to mute hashtags (and if so, how)?

Fellow PV owners - is October always this terrible, or have I just started on a bad year? 😉

Wow, that "mud on road" sign wasn't kidding. Pretty sure at times the ABS and traction control were active together.

Ok, that's a new one - contacted by a recruitment agency and unusually, I actually replied (to say I haven't done permie stuff for 30 odd years, and hadn't touched Windows dev seriously for as long)
When I expressed surprise that he even had my details, he told me he found me on GitHub. Leaving aside the obvious questions (you've seen my C++ there and think I'm employable?!) I don't think I've ever been contacted from my GitHub details!

Freshly stabbed to defend against the plague. Very grateful that private jabs are available this year, but also very conscious that at £85 it's not exactly very affordable for a lot of people.
(also a little annoying that I had to travel quite so far to find someone offering it, but as it looks to have a fairly low take up, I can understand why it is so)

Always fun to have the nice gas man tell you your LPG tank is EOL, and he doesn't like the look of the pipe running from it into the house either.
VERY grateful that he agreed that it was the sort of thing that would keep until after winter...

OpenReach are now at the "wandering fields with clipboards" stage of bringing us fibre broadband - which is interesting because the "community fund" thing is only half full.
Still, it's nice to see their records are as bad as WPD.
OR: Where's the overhead cable that's supposed to run from that pole to the road?
Me: Oh, that's buried across next door's garden.
OR: That's not what our plans say.
Me: ... well I mean you can tell by it's not-over-our-heads-ness that it's not... overhead.

I'm not even sure why I ever signed up to LinkedIn, but a recent uptick in the constant spam that having my details there causes has finally prompted me to delete that account.

@beasts is there any way to blacklist email addresses on your email service, or is that something I need to let my email client(s) handle?
There's a gmail-based spammer that is just driving up the wall 🙂

First full month of feed-in payments from the solar, and despite the frustrating export cap, we still earned more than we spent on electricity+standing charge.
I mean obviously that was August, but that's past the peak of solar production and implies we can hope for ... maybe 4 cash-positive months a year?
Obviously things will get more interesting come January...!

Hmm. Sometimes, my mouse becomes extremely sluggish, and the only fix is to reboot it. Resetting the USB subsystem doesn't help. Logging out and back in doesn't help.
Nothing appears in syslog.
Happened with two different mice, which makes me assume it's a system problem not a mouse one.
Ubuntu 20.04 (yes, I know). No idea where to even start /sigh
