Well, once there was a kingey boy who went around falling on his butt all the time when he came out of buildings. People took pity on him and said to strap some springs on his butt so that when he fell down he would bounce back up. And kingey boy spent the rest of his life with chromed springs behind his butt.

Jimmy Carter.

I guess I don't quite know what to say. For most of my life he has represented the good which humans can achieve and be. I voted for Jimmy Carter twice, very proudly. There was a sense of good and light and joy to Jimmy Carter. I really believe that we could be the good, decent human being that Jimmy Carter was. So now the world seems a little darker. I am sad.

Well, I ordered myself a box of 10 1 lb claxton fruitcakes as a Holiday present to myself. They came last week. I gave one to a friend and I now have one left.

That wasn't quite the way things were planned to go. I sort of thought of them lasting until at least early January.

So, the ultimate quandary of life has descended upon me. When should I eat that last 1 lb claxton fruitcake?
