A 3km run with two dogs, that equals 6km, right, right... right?
Started out brilliantly, nice trot, next to each other. Then we ended up in the middle of wild goats, of course on the steepest part of the trail. Dogs and goats in all directions and a big stone onto my foot, not bad just sore. Glad I had the Irish mutt as an anchor once or twice, as we scrambled out. The only way to escape was to take the aqua duct. I had seen it on the map as a path and it cleary was one.
Jolly good fun.

Interesting the both OsmAnd+ and Google Maps were happy to guide me into this parking and hiking area. And both are throwing a hissy fit when trying to guide me out. No matter where too, nearby, north or south. Google want me to start my journey on the other side of the river. But OsmAnd+ wants me to somehow jump 70km, take a ferry, drive around Ibiza, take another ferry. Both apps and my Suunto watch gets GPS lock and shows me spot on, to where I am.

Thanks to the Irish mutt we got to a view point. I had planned a flat 5km, but Paddy dragged me to the top, slow going. Well worth it.

I don't get the runners high. Though when I get out early I do have the smugness, but I get it even without running. Love my bed to much to get to be smug often, but when I got an early start it's there for sure ;)

Set out with the Spanish mutt for a 2.5K loop. Nice and calm, dogs to be heard in the far distance, no need to worry. Enjoyed the views and let Penny the Podenco have her sniffs. Which was easy for her as the downhill was rather rough and not really run-able.
Arrived back at HQ to swap mutt over to the Irish version. Started to do the loop in reverse. Got past the halfway point which also was the start of the long rough uphill.
Then we heard the tell-tell sounds of a pack of hunting dogs.
Coming closer and directly towards us, so only safe way out was up and over.
That got the old ticker going!
Paddy the Irish mutt was a bit worried, he isn't too good around other dogs yet, the joy of having rescue dogs.
Then we arrived at the top, where we could see down to HQ, 100 or so metres away, where three hunting dogs were running about. Now what!?
Hunting pack behind, was lucky sounding like they were changing directions. After a minute or so trying to get my heart rate down, so I could think and let HQ know I had a situation. The three dogs left running into the undergrowth.
5km, where 1km was hunted.

2024 was a bumpy ride. In no particular order; lost a friend to cancer, sudden loss of my mum, rescued a dog in Spain, said goodbye to our soul dog of 11 years, rescued a dog in Ireland, saw the fascist win way to many elections and seats around the world, wars that goes killing innocent people, rich people getting filthy rich and that the most of public, politicians and the MSM really don't give a shite about the destruction of the rock call home.
In other news I've started to run mid January and joined The Green Runners. I clocked up 716 miles in a year, mental to think the most "running" I've done before was to get to the ice cream vans first.
Next year I hope I can get to do some longer runs with the mutts as they should be old enough. Sadly I can't help with cancer or stopping the wars. But I hope that I can convince more people to not leave a trace while out in the outdoor, and re-use/cycle/pair more along with buying less from the other side of the planet.

Brilliant run down into this deep and remote valley to see this wee church. Its been there nearly 800 years. In the cliffs around you can see the ruins of the little community that was there. We even had to walk under one of the rock, well more half a cliff, that had fallen down.

Another run'n'sniff with the Irish mutt and with added fun, the lass joined with the Spanish mutt. They were a bit scared of a horse, but did well when seeing 3 other dogs and a few other runners. Ended up looking at this for a while, rude not to. Should have plodded on for another 500m as I would I the clocked up 700 miles of running. Because it's crimbo I rounding up, so there!

Today's run'n'sniff with Irish mutt. He really enjoys it, but easy does it for him still. He found a stick at the end and told it what is what, but it retaliated by leaving much bark on his tongue, which annoyed him ;)

This is why I hate speaking to Google or the Amazon one. Never tried the Apple version, but going from the two others I don't think I'll do any better.
When I either ask for tasks to be done or when I try dictate something. I never got them to do anything near what the ads are showing people do or heck even what friends proclaiming they got their "assistant" doing for them.
This happened today and if they can't do this simple task or don't understand me at all, nevermind I'll do it myself then.
woolly: OK Google, please set a timer for nine minutes
Google: Timer for nine minutes starting now.
w: Whohoooo, living in the future
I then figured, I should I set the timer for 8 minutes, doh.
w: OK Google, please change the nine minutes timer to eight minutes
G: OK what time do you want to set the new timer too.
w: I've just told you, but anyway I'll tell you since you asked.
w: eight minutes
G: minutes ... Sorry don't understand
w: eight minutes, please.
w: best be polite and I forgot to say please, "they" are listening after all
G: minutes ... Sorry don't understand
This goes on, for a few more tires which all fails, in a loop. Since we are in France and I'm getting annoyed with the fecking thing, I try French for a laugh.
w: Huit minute
G: 8 minutes, I don't know which timer you want me to change.
w: the nine minutes timer I just set and asked you to change, you fecking thing. Never mind I'll do it myself aarrgghhh
There's only one timer that it set and is now running. So if it didn't know, why didn't it check that first before going on and on and on about the new time for the timer.
And of course we are now under seven minutes on the timer by now.
I should have just done it old school way, open up the app deleted the nine minutes one and set on for eight minutes. That would have taken seconds.
The best I've ever get out of these "assistant" is a timer, if I set it correctly the first time, mind.
Dictating to it, I'll have to spend longer time editing what it comes up with, than if I had cleaned and dried my hands and then typed it.
Asking it to open up an app and then do something within, never happens.
Or do a simple Google search, it just sits there with some random text or app I've never asked for or told it to open.
I give up.
