A tough 24 hours in world politics. Rather than make them listen to the news on the school run, I asked my daughter to pick some music. So we listened to Dwarfish Rock all the way to school. A new genre for me, but it lifted all our moods! #DiggyDiggyHole

Just confirmed that on #instagram in the UK this morning, searches for #democrat result in a 'results are hidden as they contain sensitive content'. Not the same for searching the hashtag republican. Also surprised that the search page in the app shows a sea of porn. I had to google how to delete my account, which is now done and the app is deleted off my phone.

@FreeCAD Here you can see the view through the camera. I placed a couple of test prints on the bed to see where the limits of the field of view are. #3dprinting

@FreeCAD The bracket prints without the need for supports. It is not symmetrical. This one has a tilt angle of 46 degrees and a pan angle of 2 degrees to the left.

@FreeCAD project complete! The camera housing was easy enough, but the mounting bracket was a real challenge. I used a spreadsheet to specify the tilt and pan angles of the bracket. Getting it to update everything without errors as I adjusted these angles took some thinking in how to design it. The assembly workbench again proved very buggy. In the end I avoided multiple cylindrical joints and aligned as much as I could using adjacent faces, which the solver appears to cope with better.

I’ve never been happier that I invested my 3D printer budget into #Voron printers. Completely open source designs and software. Excellent speed and quality. Also I have really enjoyed building them and making them mine with personal touches. #3dprinting

Just when I thought I had a complete list, the #stoRPer board I bought off @concretedog just resurfaced on my desk. I need to combine using that with one of these robot projects!

I cleaned up and updated my #Maker projects Trello board and found I had actually finished a good number of projects in 2024. Some of these were more than a year in the making, but these were what I got over the finish line last year. Details for each in the ALT text. #3dprinting #RaspberryPi #Robots

My #Voron Trident kit from Siboor came with too little of the cable cover strips to hide all the wires hidden in the extrusion grooves. So I looked online and found you can buy this stuff in many colours. I ordered 5m of red to match the accent colour, and have been sealing all the extrusion grooves using it. I really like how it has turned out. #3dprinting

I find the current set of HP Printer adverts that YouTube is serving up deeply unpleasant. How can a brand think that negativity, violent outbursts and destruction are a good way to portray their customer base?

On my own to run my monthly coding session in the village hall/library this morning. So I set up a minimal amount of kit so it is less work to pack away. I hope I get some attendees as it had been very quiet since Autumn.
