1. Film Buff by Sløtface (🇳🇴)

Every single song on this #PopPunk #Rock album were huge earworms for me. While short at 30m but I had it on repeat for quite a few weeks and couldn’t get enough. Punchy but with a little bit of dynamism (the one almost-ballad having a tasty solo too).

2. Nothing. by Louis Cole, Metropole Orkest, Jules Buckley (🇺🇸)/🇳🇱)

Brilliantly composed ‘modern #Jazz’ tunes (used liberally here) from increasingly one of my favourite artists, with typical upbeat drum-and-bass-esque drums and lovely singing, but this time with a whole orchestra behind it. Lots of funky earworms in this one, only pushed from the Nr. 1 spot due to a few too many orchestra-only interludes to my liking.

4. Muuntautuja - Oranssi Pazuzu (🇫🇮)

To continue with the weirdness, we have the #Psychadelic #BlackMetal I don’t really know what. Drones, atmospheric sounds, and then out-of-nowhere screaming. Was not expecting at first, but I love what they are doing if I don’t really know what it is.

5. WOOF. by Fat Dog (🇬🇧)

Unusual #Electronic and #Balkan / #Klezmer tinged #Rock with crazy lyrics. The very high-quality singles from this album had me bouncing around the kitchen (and my head) for weeks. Would be higher but I burned out on the singles before the album and the remainder were a little underwhelming. Looking forward to seeing them live!

Interested in #OpenScience & the state of #DataArchiving in ancient #genomics research (maybe a bit niche, but still 😉)?

My colleagues Anders Bergström, Tina Warinner, & I, all working in #aDNA have published an invited commentary piece describing the challenges in both sequencing data & #metadata archiving. We propose some solutions (some active!) to improve adherence to #FAIR in #palaeogenomics. We hope some may be a model for the wider #ArchaeologicalSciences field.
