There's an interesting dynamic that can only happen in multimodal online communications: Sometimes, you send a text DM and the other person replies with a voicemail, to which you send another text, and they reply with another voicemail, etc. I'm not aware of that happening in any other media.

I dislike when “substack” is used as a synonym for article or blog post. E.g., “in this substack, we explore…”

Folks, the web was meant to be an open publishing ecosystem. Stop entrenching proprietary platforms by casting their brands as generic signifiers.
