My brain is in a bit of an orbit around the idea of finally learning to play piano. I self taught myself a little many, many years ago. I was watching some "progress videos" and someone had tips on what to to do. #1 not to do was to begin with harder pieces, and fuck me, his inspiration was the exact same one I chose recently. Spooky and disappointing in one fell swoop. He explained why that piece is a bad idea and I agree, but maaaaaaaan

Reading the IF forums, I thought to myself: "I don't think I'd ever write a game where you preroll a character. Authorial vision means something!"

Then, as if the universe wanted to provide a rebuttal, my podcast for the drive was on the Lone Wolf book series, a series I loved as a kid.

Following the examples of @zarfeblong and @DamonWakes and others, I finally deactivated my Twitter account. The thought that got me to do it was it was like I had a reserved seat in a Nazi bar. Sure it's nice to have a reserved seat and to have had it for so long, but really, it's a Nazi bar, so of zero value to me.

I got a reminder today of often how infuriating it is to have a physicist try to explain mathematics. They inevitably ruin the notation, and if you ask them a "why?" question they respond with an answer to "how?" Both practical and impractical in one fell swoop.
