Experimenting with Mojeek, and I am happy to have found it, but also dismayed how the Web got so messed up that it is now remarkable for a search engine to help you find the thing you are looking for.

It is finally happening...

We’re starting the new year by launching our new website. Literally years in development, in large part because I kept thinking of new things I wanted to be able to do with it, leading to a brilliantly complicated back-end that the elegant front-end only hints at.

New typeface releases, too.

A discussion of nut fraction implementations in OpenType on TypeDrawers reminded me that I’d done this: Burmese fractions in the Myanmar Text font.

The video of my 2024 Unicode Technology Workshop presentation is now online. Due to a last minute situation, I wasn’t able to attend the conference in person, but Unicode kindly invited me to record my talk for inclusion with the other videos.

Folks who use FEA code for OpenType Layout, does this look right?

Code should replace /ZWJ/sVirama/ with /sJoinLla/ when the sequence follows either /sLla/ or /sRLla/.

[This code is for a presentation example; actual font is built in VOLT.]

Visited the very good exhibition of Ukrainian modernism at the RA. There is a good scholarly catalogue published by Thames & Hudson that also discusses many works not in the exhibition, as well as architecture and other design.

Cover designs by Vasyl Yermilov for Нове мистецтво (c.1927) and Авангард (1929).
