Tillverkningen av konstgödsel ger också en klimatpåverkan. Det är en energikrävande process som i de allra flesta fall drivs med fossil energi och orsakar utsläpp på 3–11 kg CO2e per kg kväve beroende på produkt och produktionsteknik. Men faktum är att lustgasutsläppen från användningen har 3–4 gånger så stor klimatpåverkan som tillverkningen. Problemet med konstgödselns klimatpåverkan kan alltså inte lösas genom att endast ställa om tillverkningen till förnybar energi.

Peter Kullgren och regeringen vill gärna se att:

-Betesdjur ska vara instängda och inte beta utomhus

-Gödsla skogen

-Äta mer kött

-Skjuta mer varg

-Öka fiskekvoterna i Östersjön

-Ta ner mer fjällskog och skyddad skog

-Ta ner skogen tidigare och korta handläggningstiden innan avverkning

Under många år i helikopterbranchen så sysslade man med gödsling av skog. Detta ledda till försurning av sjöar och vattendrag. Under de senaste 25 åren har istället några helikopteroperatörer haft uppdrag i att kalka sjöar för att motverka försurningen.

Nu vill regeringen åter igen införa gödsling av skog för att skogsägare ska kunna avverka skogen några år tidigare vilket innebär än mer gödsling och senare kalkning. Det är vansinne.
