Periodic reminder that "wrapping the around the is fine, and is sufficient for conformance on its own, however adding explicit association with for
and id
is still necessary in practice."

"Both Dragon Naturally Speaking for Windows, and Voice Control for macOS and iOS, don’t recognize implicit association, so the Click email address command wouldn’t work." @siblingpastry

Google a product. Find it on a website. Buy, or don't buy a product—just stay long enough on the website to indicate interest.
Open Instagram. All sponsored posts are about that product and similar ones.
I hate Google and Meta.

Does anyone know of a macOS app that makes it possible to create "app folders" in the dock? It's starting to get crowded now that I'm adding web apps to it. I don't want to remove any, but would prefer to reduce the visual clutter using folders.

OK what started out as a small course chapter update is turning into an almost-complete rewrite of the chapter.
Typical of me, of course.
I do love this, though. I hope you will too (if you're taking the course ➡️ https://practical-accessibility.today/).

The "State of CSS" survey is now open https://survey.devographics.com/en-US/survey/state-of-css/2024
This is literally the only community survey I've participated in every year for the past several years. If you can spare 15–20 minutes, please take it and help influence the future of #CSS.

This is brilliant 😮 https://blog.glyphdrawing.club/font-with-built-in-syntax-highlighting/
"I modified an open source font Monaspace Krypton to include colored versions of each character, and then used OpenType contextual alternates to essentially find & replace specific strings of text based on HTML, CSS and JS syntax. The result is a simple syntax highlighter, built-in to the font itself." — @gdc

Instead of spending yesterday morning finishing a short article I started drafting last week, I spent the morning googling why running npm start
on my new machine resulted in a compiling error that I had never seen before.
I still don't know why the terminal command I copy-pasted from Stack Overflow fixed it. And to be honest I don't even want to go down that rabbit hole.

TIL that Safari (17.4) on macOS Sonoma does not show Developer tools by default. You can't even Inspect pages by right-clicking on the page. You have to go into Settings and enable this feature.
Why? 🧐 I don't remember having to enable this in any previous versions of Safari or macOS. 🤔
