A lifetime of watching computing going down the tube. Surely a few cycles can now be spent on protecting the data we want to keep rather than supporting ray traced animated graphics with realistic Paddington bear fur?

Starmer plan to allow "tests" before referral by a consultant is timely. This log jam is a tyranny that disrupts patients ongoing access to GPs - the "let's wait and see" ploy - buggers up things like travel insurance and even condemns many to an early premature death - now let's fix test result sharing too, so second opinions are less of a nightmare

Geoffrey Hinton (Godfather of #AI) says "“And how many examples do you know of a more intelligent thing being controlled by a less intelligent thing? " - predicting a dire outcome.

I have managed 100+ teams of computer specialists with excellent results and I'm stupid!

AI might be smart but sneaky always wins - God help us if "Artificial Sneaky" gets invented.

[#]Putin has learnt the hard way that air force and the navy are not much use but, If you really cannot defend against hypersonic missiles, then it just becomes a question of the adversaries economic strength without the inconvenient problem of the battle field being irradiated beyond any future use.

I am sure Trump will cope

Is it safe to assume that #russia does not actually have an air force? Or is is it more likely that any air force is no match for a modern ground defence? #syria

Either way, it is good to see the barrel bomb chemical weapon family scurrying off to Russia.

Let's hope we see the decent side of the Islamic faith

UK - Just had my respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) shot. The Pfizer leaflet they give out says I now have a better chance of getting paralysis than winning £100 on the lottery.

It is precisely this sort of #Pfizer crap that fuels Robert F #Kennedy Jr delusional rants

[#]Broadband water pipe - first? nearly

!n 1977, my company HQ was in Great Portland Street, London. Mild panic when I got a letter from LHW Co Ltd. saying they would no longer supply power for £13/pm. It was the London Hydraulic Power that had supplied power from the Tower Bridge engines to run lifts and heavy stuff in the surrounding few miles. 1877-1977.

A couple of weeks later Mercury Communications bought the assets for 1p and cabled The City with a fast digital network = master stroke
