Something very unusual happened to me last night: I had goose bumps, a mile high, from the most unlikely evergreen howler I could ever have imagined. It should really be mandatory viewing in every high school history class.

These days it is easy to forget that justice and vengeance are two different things.

We must never forgive atrocities and evil done with full intent. But to err is human, and the torment of a guilty conscience is often punishment enough.

We have to find compassion and kindness even in the darkest of times. Because what else is there to give people hope?
