What’s been frustrating is that, for me, the counter seems obvious. That in America, the right to pursue happiness invokes individualistic privileges which includes a right to bodily autonomy. But outside of trans people, I rarely see this line of support. Instead sympathy is evoked.

An important part of transition was accepting my right to self determination, even when counter to the expectations of society. My body belongs to me. Now, the president says the opposite. My body is not mine, it’s the state’s. That to rob the state of control is dishonorable, if not criminal.

The last EO is drenched in this concept of motherhood being the goal for anyone AFAB, and that they must be guided towards that, if by force if necessary. It should send up alarm bells. Unfortunately, no one cares about trans people, especially trans mascs.
That I keep having to frame this for the concerns of cis people on something explicitly about and effecting trans people frustrates me, but alas I’ve found that framing is the only way to get people to care.

Yet another anti trans executive order, this one seeking to forcibly detransition and disallow transition of anyone under 19, and seek the prosecution of anyone who supports them.
This one follows the paternalistic language that’s pretty common with anti-trans policies regarding children. Namely it defines gender affirming care as “genital mutilation”, and uses language talking about how trans men may miss breastfeeding their children
