This is the definition of "trust the process".
I wasn't really sure about the layout and elements I've chosen, but all it took is a layer of black acrylic paint. It really brought everything together. I lowkey like how it looks just in black, but I can't wait to paint it more.
Materials used: EVA foam, tissue paper, string, air dry clay, acrylic flowers and diamonds, decorative gravel

I've always been a fan of collages, especially in digital art. I'm self-taught on Corel products (have since shifted to Affinity) and my first art was always fanart collages. Below is one from 2019.
So it's no wonder that I'm in love with mixed media, add that to my love of bookbinding and my head is so full of ideas I don't nearly have enough time for. I hope to share something in the near future rather than just talking about it. 😁

How do people doing mixed media have such tidy spaces when they craft? Mine's a disaster of air dry clay bits, gesso, texture paste and corn starch. 😅
And that's just the beginning, I haven't pulled out my glue or acrylics yet. 😂

Me: cracks knuckles "Alrighty, I'm gonnna get rid of my tabs by watching all of the 10 YT videos."
Also me: Finishes watching them and realizes 10 more are open because the recommended ones were interesting.

If you're someone who enjoys looking at pre-recorded videos of someone crafting (overhead or off the side POV), what is your preference? Not necessarily a tutorial, but definitely could be followed as one.
I want to start making videos here and there, but don't want to be annoying, plus I'm kinda monotone as is. 😶
Limited options, but the last one would be a mix of talk/irl sound/music. :D

I hate seeing beautiful craftsmanship products that took considerable amount of time grossly underpriced. A notebook with a mixed media cover is sold for €22, and on Etsy of all places.
Even if you buy a pre-made notebook for cheap and decorate the cover, it's still materials + labor + profit (+ Etsy fees?). Even if it took 30 minutes (which it couldn't have, just from experience), how do they make money?
It's so pretty, and I'm really sad.

I've been testing out creating more complex covers for my notebooks.
I started with a small version before I commit to a full size cover, and I'm really happy with it! Obviously the studs aren't meant for a cover of this size, so it looks a bit funny. 😅

I'm going to be annoying and talk more about GSPR. I work in a bookstore and they also sell stationery. This is what I learned:
I don't know y'all, it's a mess. 😂

Since I'm going to work tomorrow and Friday, I decided to spend today creating GSPR labels for my products. Nothing really exciting, but I'd like it to be done and over with ASAP.
I made separate pages on my shop for product safety in multiple languages. I'll keep them in english on the product and then have a link to the specific page via QR code.
I'm using Google translate, but if anyone wants to help check if they make sense in their language, let me know! 😁

Why don't you, I don't know, maybe improve your platforms so that they're usable to real people instead of making fake people to boost engagement?

• I need to put the information in Czech, since my business is based here, plus also in English.
This should be enough to comply with GSPR for my products and my small business.
I encourage you to see if you have any product safety laws locally, or any Trade Inspection authority.
You can also contact a Product Contact Point for your country here for free information: https://single-market-economy.ec.europa.eu/single-market/goods/free-movement-sectors/mutual-recognition-goods/product-contact-points_en
They'll probably give you a general answer, though.
But I think these are the basics. 😊 (3/3)

• I will put contact information on the packaging (stickers are too small and I don't want to put it in notebooks)
• Product names or SKU need to be unique, so I'll put that with the info as well.
• I'll put usage instructions as well, I already do this at my shop (don't put stickers on surfaces that get wet)
• I don't need to warn about papercuts since notebooks and stickers assumes common usage.
• To be safe, I will put disclaimer about small parts with my sticker packaging.

So I got the reply to my GSPR questions from a lawyer. Of course he didn't tell me specifically what I should do from my product, but he linked me to a few Czech laws that already apply for product safety, and linked me also to our Trade Inspection authority, which was quite helpful.
Here's what I'm gonna do (1/3)

I got some money for Christmas and the worst part is deciding whether to buy a plotter or a paper guilottine. Plotter will allow me to go wild with designs for my notebooks, will cut my stickers in no time, whereas the guilottine will save me time trimming books by hand.
I'm leaning more towards the plotter tbh, I was eyeing the Cricut Joy Xtra, but am willing to try others in the same price range. What's the general consensus on Cricuts?
