As we no more have pg_backup_start available outside of a transaction, does anyone has any other tip than this script by Laurenz Albe ?

.. still having unlogged tables was a really bad idea. Restoring a snapshot taking while DB is running is like a crash recovery. And unlogged tables are lost.

Rain and clouds. A perfect day to fully qualify ZFS and postgres scenarios on a 8TB database. Hot snapshot , send , promote backup, rollback. Data is compressed, so are ssh transfers.

It takes a while to consolidate but I will not live without it anymore. #ZFS #Postgres

Monthes after the original issue, we finally found the culprit.

Our vector tiles attributes are numerous and heavy. OGR has a fallback to increase simplification when compressed tile is over MAX_SIZE threshold.

As we have varying density and attributes in different area, and we switched compression in the same time, finding this was a challenge.

Kudos to Nicolas Delgado for finding this!

But hey, it was some nice kind of #accidentalArt #30DayMapChallenge

La page de statut, très bien cachée, mériterait un domaine status.ign.fr et de monitorer les vitesses d'accès et de téléchargement.

La négociation HTTP prend une bonne minute et le téléchargement est se compte en poignées KB/s
