I try not to be too preachy about where I work these days, but in light of all the B.S. Zuck dropped yesterday wanted to pitch Retro as a possible alt for people looking for a non-Meta owned personal social network. https://retro.app Elevator pitch: we're like Instagram ~10 years ago. Power is out and needed to start the stove using a lighter, just remembered I bought this a while back: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09B3STT5F. First time using it for real. I don’t know why everybody doesn’t have one of these, no more messing with fiddly disposable gas lighters.

I had a physics class in college where during the first lab the professor had to run around answering questions because every group was confused about how the oscilloscopes work despite having instructions. He stopped the class at one point and said “look, you’re not going to break them by playing with the knobs. You need to be willing to mess around and figure it out yourself”. That has very much stuck with me.
