So does economic inflation just continue forever? Will people in 2225 be saying, "I remember when a candy bar cost $18.97!"?

That portable SSD which stopped being recognized by any computer? Turns out SSD firmware can heal the drive just by connecting it to power and letting it do its thing for as long as it takes.

24 hours after plugging it into a USB AC adapter, the drive is acting normally enough for me to mirror it to another drive and save all 2TB of data!

I remember when this report first came out, I think from ProPublica, and it of course further cemented my belief in completely abolishing rent for property. Excited that our newly awakened antitrust enforcement is actually trying to do something about it!

And if you're wondering the same thing I did, yes, gas stations use the exact same kind of software to fix prices...

I'm reading "Pixel" by Pixar co-founder Alvy Ray Smith and he started describing sampling theory and analog wave reconstruction, which made me consider whether language could be a type of 'sampling' of reality. It turns analog and continuous ideas into discrete words - which when received by another person are ideally reconstructed into the original idea. I don't know what to make of that but it's fun to think about.

Having no prior knowledge of the book or musical, I've just seen Wicked: Part 1, and I think I could summarize the whole thing as, "What if everybody in Wizard of Oz was a cryptofascist?"

Anyone have recommendations for a guide to debugging and unit testing in Python?

All of my code learning in multiple languages has been very ad-hoc, and testing is a weak point that I'd like to work on.
