I probably took this 15 minutes too early. The light would have been better about 0545.

Racists, man. Their weirdness just keeps climbing as this kind of belligerent ignorance gets more and more popular on the right of politics.

I’m more convinced than ever that conservatism is a moral and mental deficiency.

All the double glazing is in at our place. I need to paint the architrave on this, but the new triptych window is pretty nice with its 20km+ viewpoint.

New read - Kosciuszko: The incredible life of the man behind the mountain

Ant Sharwood’s narrative history and memoir books focussed on the mountains of southern NSW are some of the best, most approachable, current Australian nonfiction in a similar vein to John Blay’s works on exploring SE NSW.

Labor targeting seats held or contested by Greens in the coming federal election is all of:

Labor is fucking mad and pointless.

Today's note from the farm: hope any lifestock you see never experience photosensitisation from eating plants with certain toxins. We have a cow at the dairy that is going through hell with skin and liver damage and she is unlikely to make it.

DPI NSW's fact sheet does not come close to describing the horror - https://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0016/111157/photosensitisation-in-stock.pdf

What a fantastic project! There’s things here I'd likely never read, but my particular taste isn't the point.

Very @elzbethmrgn areas of interest, though.

This is absolutely wild. An outstanding long read look inside America's weird right militias from the perspective of an independent infiltrator.

The swamp wallaby has returned to pluck the best bits from the garden. We’re pretty sure it’s and old animal with the beaten up, bent-over ears and a few clear scars on its face and shoulders.

With Meta/Zuckerberg announcing the end of moderation on those platforms, I'm going to cease using Facebook and Instagram for personal and business purposes. I'll stay there because people I know use those things to keep in touch, but I won't post actively.

I plan to move my personal and business Instagram to pixelfed.au ( @PixelfedAUAdmin is that okay?).

Given aus.social rules, where do folks think the best place for a general social posting account for our B&B is? It's generally low-key, non-marketing stuff showing off the region, wildlife, and flora.

Please go #hiking. Please enjoy yourself. But ffs, be prepared with extra clothing, food, and water, understand conditions and forecasts, and don't hike in places you aren't ready for.

The picture halfway down this story is wild. Nobody should be where those hikers are! And they had no water!

Just another example of the toxic and unjust combination of Australia’s heavy-handed protest laws, cops escalating past what is ever needed, and the court system acting like an ass.
