made a bunch of progress tonight as well. Second floor polished iron block floors are about 80% done. Added some more area to the sky garden, and made an advanced solar panel. Its basically four of the mekanism solar panels stuck together. Its a large resource sink, but the power output is something like 100 times that of four panels if you were just to pop them on the ground.

I'm going through a backlog of CISA KEV CVE's we don't have, and somehow, this got caught in the crossfire.

A triple-exploit chain. auth bypass (1) to exposed dbus interface (2) to command injection (3)

We have a python script that we use internally that will, take a suricata 5 formatted rule, then try to dump a similarly formatted rule that should be nearly similar and should pass syntax validation for snort 2.9 and suricata 4. It was throwing a lot of syntax warnings for invalid escape sequences. New python syntax changes for escape sequences wants you to pass an r in front of your strings with escape characters to denote its a raw string.

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/52335970/how-to-fix-syntaxwarning-invalid-escape-sequence-in-python

Took me an afternoon, but no more syntax warnings, and it seems to be working as it did before so far

when you reach the end and the python script runs with no more invalid escape sequences, and you're unsure on whether or not you fucked up all the regex sequences, or if you've committed the perfect surgical code incision, just to get python to shut the fuck up:

cloudflare has had a nazi problem for a while.

substack has had a nazi problem for a while.

Hiding the condemnation of hate speech behind "But everyone deserves free speech on the internet" is their bread and butter.

I'll start with examples I can think of off the top of my head. You chime in whenever you're ready.

Matt M, losing his shit and decided that automattic, you know, the company responsible for the well-being of wordpress is just... no longer gonna do that. https://digitalcxo.com/article/matt-mullenweg-automattics-ceo-seems-bound-and-determined-to-wreck-wordpress/

Bezos decides he doesn't want Wapo to endorse Kamala https://www.npr.org/2024/10/25/nx-s1-5165353/washington-post-presidential-endorsement-trump-harris

Zuckerberg runs back moderation on Meta platforms. https://www.theverge.com/24339131/meta-content-moderation-fact-check-zuckerberg-texas

Elon has fucked X into the ground. I can't be more specific than that, because there's just a trail of fuck ups that began when he took over that ended in the culmination of gaining control of the votes through algorithmic manipulation of twitter as a whole. This article is just a microcosm of a whole lot more: https://www.nbcnews.com/tech/misinformation/musk-election-misinformation-x-officials-twitter-voting-rcna176938

Oh yeah, and while TikTok's privacy policies were a dumpster fire, you can be sure that Musk or Zuckerberg, probably fuckin' both were the ones lobbying for them to either divest and sell US operations to them or get out.

Progress update: I've discovered the build tool.

its quite expensive, requiring a ton of end-game materials, but if you have the right items in your inventory, you can build in a set area. I don't know how to do the more complex functions, but I can use "build to me" flawlessly, and it lays blocks down from the object you're pointing at (to a certain distance) to you. It took me two days to start building that "sky island". It took me two hours to gather, lay, and smelt over 2,000 stone bricks, and 2,000 blocks of dirt.
