Sometimes I take photos in the hope I can use them for album covers. But I think this one has been done. #Deadwing #PorcupineTree

My violin of choice for this film sountrack is my Bridge 'Tasman' Octave violin.

The GM-800 tracking is vastly superior to the SY-1000 and quite a bit better than the GR-55 even on guitar, but especially for my Cantini violin.

Quick review GK3 vs GK5 pickups (into GM-800): There's not a lot in it. The GK-5 is marginally better, in that I get fewer (almost no) ghost notes. But if you have good technique then I suspect you will hardly ever have that problem.

Conclusion: GM-800 is great and you don't need a GK5 to get the best from it. Favourite feature is 'carry-over' - you can play a note and change the patch and the existing note will carry on in the old sound until it finishes, while new sounds get the new patch

I do love a meeting being brightened up by someone bringing in a cross and the book "Exorcism for Dummies"

Watching a period drama where white letters are sent with a red seal, and I keep expecting them to finish with "Your time starts now" #Taskmaster

The days of New Scientist magazine covers having 3 or 4 potential band names as teasers on the cover are sadly over. But I reckon "Leech Death Spiral" would be a good metal band.

There's a point in making a solo album where I just want it to be finished.

I reached that point about an hour ago.

Although the weirdest thing that happened yesterday was a fairly in-depth discussion of nail varnish with 4 railway engineers (2M, 2F including me, but the M were joining in and asking questions).

I feel @Solobasssteve would approve :)

I was wondering why there were lots of people in hi-vis at the church. Then I realised they were orange bridesmaids dresses.
