Oopsie! My credit card slipped when ordering some needed knitting notions, and now I have two skeins of yarn on the way as well!

L and family are having a stay in Auckland while one of her kids gets surgery at Starship.

As you can imagine, it's a stressful time for them.

WINZ have arranged accommodation, but they need help with money for food and petrol.

If you can help, even with a few dollars, they would really appreciate it.

I have finally cast off my massive 3 skein lace scarf!! (I cast it on in June)

Unblocked length approx 8 feet!! (Just in time for Summer!?!)

Still need to weave in ends and block.

Pattern: Hanen Lace Wrap

Yarn: Moonrise Yarn Co 4ply in 'Rain Fade'

This was a fun pattern to knit - a nice rhythm to the lace and not too many different rows to remember. I could've made it shorter but decided not to.

Pattern: variations on 'Ravello' by Isabel Kraemer

Yarn: Merino 4 ply in 'Moss Babe' by Moonrise Yarn Co

This is a top down jersey, so this little bit of knitting is the neckband.

(Lil skull is a stitch marker which tells me where each round starts and ends)

Celebrating the Solstice by rereading Terry Pratchett's 'Hogfather' as has become my tradition.

Also celebrating with an impressive thunderstorm during our Christmas Choir practice! (That bit isn't a tradition, but was magnificent!)

Okay, I need some help from other tarot nerds, plz...

I have pulled the Five of Pentacles as my daily card to explore three times in the last week.

I am aware of the conventional meanings of scarcity and so forth, and even some of the less conventional (movement away from the staticness of the Four, etc... )

Yet I have the sense I'm missing a key piece of my puzzle*

How do you interpret the Five of Pentacles?

Ugh. So much for One NZ. I am meant to be an authorised person on our home account. My husband rang several days ago to make sure I was an authorised person on our account. Yet somehow I am still not an authorised person on our account 🙄

Which means I can't do anything about the ongoing issue with our broadband 🤬

Any recommendations for home broadband providers?!? (Or anyone else we should avoid...) NZ only. Thanks!
