if i were to wish for something to be added to the c standard library it would be an unwinding library, to end the nightmare of unwinding libraries on Linux (yea i know the easiest answer is just to do unwinding yourself)

It's very impressive the way people can invent problems in order to support their reflexive dismissal of something. It's clear that there's no thought happening, it just kind of spontaneously happens and gets typed out.

5 people died last time somebody microwaved their lunch at the wrong setting for half an hour after the smoke caused something akin to The Purge. you cant imagine what it was like

"people might DIE if you pull a fire alarm due to PANIC" my brother in christ, it's true. every three months when we test the fire alarms we lose at least 4 employees to the pandemonium.

I've been unfortunately reminded that notch still exists and I just want to say. Stop Using Analogies When You Can't Write For Shit. Thank you. "It's like a chef who can only make frozen pizza" Jesus Christ Almighty

Using Miro at work and it's impressive how poorly it runs. Like I'm just typing into a text box people you don't have an excuse to ever drop frames, let alone dropping seconds.

It's impressive how the capitalistic answer to "we finished our product and did too good a job, now nobody wants the next version" is to just, never have versions, rolling release, subscription based. Like shipping a good product is too powerful, you must avoid it at all costs.

Here's a version where we don't render the background for the swapper process at all, but still keep the event when you hover.

https://github.com/mikesart/gpuvis/pull/97 well there's a preliminary solution anyway. i am no longer perpetually baffled by the display of waits.

well the dumb fix works perfectly well for this small trace anyway... Fixing this might require the UI to de-emphasize the swapper process as well by fading it out a bit.

OH I figured out why the swapper process is so messed up visually in gpuvis, it's always looking for the previous sched_switch event for a particular PID in order to calculate the duration. but uh, swapper has pid 0 on all cores, so the calculated duration is always just the time backwards to the last swapper scheduling event on any core rather than the current core.
Lets see how easy this is to fix...

It's impressive that Firefox's DOM layout engine is approximately twice as fast as the Chrome one for large documents. (Vulkan spec loads on 5s in ff instead of 10s with chrome)
