Really not digging the pro-authoritarian takes from liberals right now.
In case you weren't paying attention, #tiktok has been pro-authoritarian for some time, which now means that all major social platforms are pro-authoritarian and/or pro-fascism, with the exception of the #fediverse and (for now) #bluesky.
It's no coincidence that those are the only socials where I remain active.
(I don't consider #linkedin as social media, although there is also a troubling trend there)

I've kicked off the new year by deleting my Insta, Facebook, and Threads accounts. And about a month ago, I deleted by Twitter account. I'm leaving up my bluesky account for now but I'm eyeing it suspiciously. #linkedin will stay, because I find it indispensable for my career.
As an added bonus, I can't access bluesky from my laptop because https://bsky.app/ is apparently inaccessible through #expressvpn so I have to use the Android app.

I started "it ends with us" because of the lawsuits and accusations, and I wanted to see what the fuss was about. I only made it 5 minutes in before noping out. It just seemed too creepy and weird - a little too much of a personal vanity project for the director/lead actor who thinks way too highly of themselves. I think the best you can say for Baldoni is that he has little self awareness, but it's probably much much worse than that.

I just hate-watched La Palma on Netflix. By the end, I was rooting for everyone to die. A disturbing number of #netflix shows have a "designed by LLM" quality to them. This is what cost-cutting looks like when you still want special effects but don't want to pay those pesky writers.
I thought the show runners had come to their senses when they killed off the most annoying character, only to bring them back in the most absurd Lazarus moment.

I somehow missed this when it was first reported, but Democrats settled for a "deal" where they basically handed 4 appellate judgeships to Trump. Thing is though, in order to be a "deal" there needs to be something commensurate in return. And uh... this falls far short of the mark.
I don't understand why Biden can't do recess appointments and just approve all of these in one fell swoop.
