Today a massive crowd of maybe 35,000 - 55,000 people protested outside Parliament, tidied up after themselves and left.

Compare and contrast with 2½ years ago when a few hundred anti-vaxxers protested outside Parliament, trashed the grounds, spray-painted swastikas on statues, pissed on the Cenotaph and ended up rioting and burning down a playground.

I wonder what people would think of an "European restaurant" in Asia that served pizza, paella, croissants, borscht, goulash and kielbasa, all "adjusted" to appeal to Asian taste expectations...

It's going to stay damp overnight and get positively wet at times tomorrow.

There isn't any decent collated info. yet that I can find about the state of roads in Southland, but from various sources it looks like northern Southland - Waikaia and (unusually) Mossburn are copping a lot of it. The lower Mataura is also (as usual) acting up and covering the usual Fleming and Holz roads.
