One of those random memories of co-workers past- someone I really enjoyed working with.
when she came to the US, in some kind of misunderstanding her first name got documented as her last name, and on her official papers they wrote in FNU (First Name Unknown) in the first name field. On all our company stuff as a result, her name showed up as Fnu. I lost track of how many times I heard her explain to people that Fnu wasn't actually her name, after they tried to pronounce it.

So far one cell seemed to charge up fine on its own, one cell went 'pfffffttt' and released smoke when I popped it's old welds off, and a third is on the charger.
Someone on the #HamWorkbench talked about building a little tester for cells like these - I ought to dig up the show notes from that one if I can find itπ

We may be shifting into a new baby phase - today I had some time to sit at the radios while holding the baby.
That's the first good news - for a while the baby hasn't liked it if I'm upright while holding them, and I've been resigned to reclining on the couch when holding them.
The second bit, is that I made a couple SSB contacts, and the talking didn't wake the baby I was holding, so we might be shifting to a phase where it's easier to play radio while holding them.

Watched Star Wars episode 3 last night while holding the baby. Felt a bit too real. Especially the scene ending democracy and declaring the start of an empire, being received by applause and cheers in the Senate....

Got a decent snow yesterday, which should be around for a few days because it's supposed to stay pretty cold. Probably a good one to disconnect, go sledding, drink some hot chocolate, and maybe dabble around with my radios if sledding wears everyone out and makes them fall asleepπ

Got a new battery pack for our stick vacuum because the old one wouldn't charge any more. Tore apart the old one, and trying to decide if I want to mess around to see if any of these individual cells are still good.

Just one quick wrap up call after a bit, and then this week of 'fun' is done.

Because I spent the first few years of my career doing field service and inspections (on fire alarm systems) I met tons of people. Now, what this means is that when I see names of people I go "I feel like I know/should know who that is."
Invariably it ends up being someone I interacted with at some building I went to. Had that today, when I noticed a name in the paper, and eventually figured out it was the guy who managed a piano store that used to be here, that I serviced equipment in.

Are there companies out there that hire Product Owners/Program Managers/Project Managers/Scrum Masters etc. to manage just one or 2 teams/projects/products?
My title is Project Manager, for some stuff I'm more of a Release Train Engineer, for some a scrum master, however you spin it my company now currently considers me the "project manager" for 51 different active projects, spread across several portfolios, and 28 different 'teams'.
None of it gets a lick of what it needs as a result.

The good thing about 7am, is that it feels like the day is half over if you were up at 3am. The bad thing about 7am is realizing that it's only 7am if you've been up since 3am.

Still have to rasp out the opening to the full size so these actually stick through, but this should start giving the idea a bit of how the front is shaping up.

@hamchallenge ohh - 160 or 80...
I can do 80, so maybe I'll still squeak that one in

I'm giving myself a win in the week 2 column for @hamchallenge HC02S.
I only caught a few beacons in my limited radio time this week. Learning about the 1 second dashes at different power levels was the new thing to me - I didn't know they did that (or if I did, I forgot itπ) and it did make for a neat propagation check.
I'll prob skip ahead to one of the other weeks if I do something this coming week, because the chance of me getting a 160m antenna up this week is 0 π

@KJ7OMO - it's starting to look a bit like something from the back. Next up will be making the holes and such in the front panel where the radio faces and main power switch and such will be.

One of my little helpers wanted to have a try at filing smooth the edges of the cutouts on the back panel for @KJ7OMO repeater enclosure I've been working on.
