In a time where funding for #OpenScience research and communities may become de-prioritized I spent a moment to reflect on how @turingway has positively impacted my career and life. Read all about it here: https://github.com/the-turing-way/the-turing-way/issues/4032#issuecomment-2611242343
If you have a moment to share how The Turing Way has impacted your work, also if you 'only' reused one of the images for your presentations, now is the time to contribute back!

Get yourself collaborators that chase everyone to submit a conference abstract and write things like "I will get on with the poodle fluffing of pages 3 and 4."

Is it just me or is #SherpaRomeo now completely useless? I previously used this to check upon journal policies to see how long embargo periods were... and it is just not informative at all anymore. Am I missing something?

I'll need to do an ethical approval thing for a research project that I want to do. At least the project is less radical than the one in this comic...

I don't suppose there exists a follow function for people on @ORCID_Org? Kind of like you can keep track of new repositories on GitHub? I would like to be able to follow new outputs of certain people.. what would be a good way around that, other than stalking them on Mastodon/LinkedIn?

Strolled on BlueSky earlier today and found out that there is nothing going on that I don't already find out about from strolling around here. The stroll here is nicer - in general people are less pretentious, at least on my timelines.
Maybe the second of January is not the best use case scenario...
Maybe it is also that I now have a thing against anything that resembles Twitter because I'm still bitter over what happened to that...

Very nice blog by Lourens Veen from the @eScienceCenter on the considerations when you choose a platform to share research:

@investinopen probably a nice read for the team as well!

Spend half a day trying to figure out a new workflow now that my microsoft account from TU Delft is deleted.
Sigh!
(If you have better alternative suggestions, let me know now that I still have some energy left to try)

As part of my @eScienceCenter Fellowship I co-organised a session at the #OSFNL2024 #OpenScience Festival in Maastricht in October! Participants gathered to discuss all things related to tracking research objects other than publications - and we wrote a blog about it so that you don't have to miss out if you were not able to join the Festival!

One of the things from this year that I'm most proud of is the guidance document that we set up during the #OSR24NL retreat, and that I took back to our faculty to actually implement it! We are not at the implementation stage yet, but the guidance document went through several rounds of feedback, which has led to some changes. So it was time to upload a new version on Zenodo:
https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.14194027
Still a lot of work to do, but happy where I left this.

I'm a bit sad that this is mostly because I'll now retire the pages - until I find new uses of them - because I'm entering my final work week at TU Delft!
