1/ The NHS - despite everything thrown at it, it remains a superb demonstration that there is compassion in the world. Also hoping my Dad will be back home soon!

2/ Blow out dinners ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Just bailed on cooking for myself and went to the steakhouse near the hospital "couldn't eat another thing" mode!

3/ Family and friends at work and home: Support is everywhere while Dad is being treated in hospital, disrupting all the things - sincere thanks y'all! ๐Ÿค—

Apologies to those receiving #openbenches notifications, I have just finished uploading 60 new benches to the site. Turns out nobody had been round our local memorial gardens... ๐Ÿ˜€

1/ Music at mass this morning all went ok, despite it being me operating MIDI things and playing some organ parts! ๐ŸŽผ

2/ Full Christmas dinner done and dusted - with turkey, stuffing, red cabbage + bacon, roast mixed veg (parsnips, sprouts, carrots, potatoes, leeks, onion & kumara ๐Ÿ˜‹ ) & gravy..

3/ Family - both in person and elsewhere online - lots of silly presents and happy photos ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

1/ Despite logistical obstacles the birthday weekend + show in London plans went ahead ๐Ÿฅ‚ ๐ŸŽ‰

2/ Nice to meet up with @Slash909uk & @Edent again!

3/ The British Library is awesome! The Mediaeval Women exhibit was fascinating + spectacular articles (Joan of Arc's signature!) I was awestruck how one room has: Leonardo Da Vinci's notebooks; Durer's drawings; Michaelangelo's poetry; Handel & Mozart manuscripts; Babbage & Turning' letters, W Ross Ashby's notes... just wow!

1/ Music! We had our first choir practice for a new church choir - just the six of us but it went really well ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐ŸŽค

2/ Cathartic clear out of the Scout hut storage and moving new toys in, very satisfying ๐Ÿงน

3/ Goat curry. I made it yesterday in the slow cooker and let it stand overnight to develop flavour - sooo nice today with rice, mango chutney, poppadums and naans ๐Ÿ˜‹

Not done one for a bit and today was a good day ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

1/ Spent altogether too long yesterday afternoon fighting a MIDI editor, but today the congregation all said how nice the hymn was - karma!

2/ More family visiting: lovely to have lunch with my sister-in-law and hubby, more to come next week ๐Ÿค—

3/ Food glorious food, and I only did a tiny bit of the prep - mostly other people taking the strain!

1/ Grandchildren! Was childminding earlier this week and had our youngest (10 months) fall asleep on my shoulder - I'd forgotten how satisfying that was!

2/ Good company and new restaurants - looking forward to a night out tomorrow in a new local place (Marco Pierre White branded - ooh!)

3/ Honesty - had some excellent open conversations this week at work - nothing personal or sensitive, but felt good to explain myself to colleagues (I can be weird!)

1/ First gig with the choir I joined earlier this year - super fun singing choral pop tunes ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐ŸŽค !

2/ A nice day volunteer driving for the local community transport service - it's always lovely to see the transformation in people after a day out at the seaside with fish & chips ๐Ÿค—

3/ Re stocking the freezer after a 'door left ajar' moment earlier in the week - quite cathartic to start again.. (always look on the bright side etc.)

2/ Sailing - just completed an early morning sail from Levington to Brightlingsea in force 4-5 winds as yacht crew - that was brisk โ›ต ๐Ÿƒ ๐Ÿ˜€

3/ Tea - extremely welcome after that sail, plus a stroopwaffle for energy ๐Ÿ˜‹

๐Ÿ˜ž Just discovered that I can no longer search for my domain in Have I been Pwned (to get the list of affected email addresses in a recent breach), unless I pay monthly for an unpredictable need. Bye bye previously useful free service I have used for 10+ years.

Feels like #enshittification but it's mostly Troy trying to recover costs of expensive bits (https://www.troyhunt.com/welcome-to-the-new-have-i-been-pwned-domain-search-subscription-service/) Shame I fall into a paid tier.

I regularly see complaints about posts that include images without alt text, especially images of textual content, often screenshots of some other site (you all know the quote by now I guess?).

My take? I think this is the result of being the path of least resistance on a mobile device - hit two buttons, flip to fediverse app, tap paste, add your words.

My challenge: How does a fediverse developer make the better outcome the easiest option? Not Google, not Apple, us.

Weird moment with my #SainsburysBank #CreditCard, just received new cards that I did not request, with 8 months remaining on the old ones... anyone know why that might be?
