successfully horrified everyone at Christmas by knowing all of the words to Beach Boys - Kokomo (1988). I worked at a record store. I pretty much know all pop music from 1950 to 2000, with some older jazz and blues standards thrown in.

The customer had to be able to handle the traffic (it would saturate NICs etc), do something promptly, and thus, the customer would correspondingly have some demands. So, it was charged for. Most users of such APIs actually used a sample, which was cheap or free.

@marcoarment BBC Sounds (the music one) did this, and I really like it. On the lock screen, it only shows plus/minus instead of the number of seconds. It does show the seconds if you're actually in the app.
