09:40 DaemonFC; schestowitz[TR], My favorite part of Breaking Bad is what ends up happening to Ted Beneke.
09:41 DaemonFC; The guy is just a fucking asshole and deserves what he gets.
09:42 DaemonFC; Walt's wife cheats on him with her boss, Ted, and the guy has been cooking the books at the company he owns and ducking the IRS.
09:42 DaemonFC; So Walt's wife steals a bunch of money Walt earned cooking meth for Gus Fring, and gives it to Ted to pay the IRS, and he doesn't. He goes and buys a new Mercedes and a Rolex and meanwhile her name is all over the cooked books.
09:43 DaemonFC; So she sends some hired goons (through Saul Goodman) to go sit on this guy and make him write a check to the IRS and make sure he doesn't go anywhere until they cash his check.

09:44 DaemonFC; A few oranges fall on him and his fingers are twitching.
09:44 DaemonFC; But turns out, he didn't die. He's in the hospital paralyzed forever from the neck down.
09:45 DaemonFC; I keep rewinding that whenever I watch through Breaking Bad.
09:45 DaemonFC; Because it's kind of what I wish would have happened to Gonad.
09:46 DaemonFC; If I'd had my say in the matter, he never would have had the heart attack. He'd have been a quadriplegic after a horrible accident like Ted's.
09:52 DaemonFC; I don't think that Walt personally ever did anything wrong in the entire run of the show.
09:53 DaemonFC; But his actions throughout lead like maybe 165-170 innocent bystanders to die.
09:54 DaemonFC; He cooks meth, but junkies would find even more toxic meth from someone else. So that doesn't matter.
09:54 DaemonFC; He either personally takes out or enables other people to take out a bunch of violent street thugs and an entire Mexican cartel.
09:55 DaemonFC; But he never personally did anything all that wrong.
09:55 mjg59_; He deliberately causes the death of his business partner's girlfriend
09:55 DaemonFC; Not really, no.
09:56 mjg59_; He repeatedly lies to Jessie
09:56 DaemonFC; He accidentally bumped her and let her choke on her vomit like she deserved.
09:56 DaemonFC; She would have had Jesse dead or in prison if she hadn't died, maybe Walt too. She was a money grubbing bitch that tried to shake Walt down.
09:56 mjg59_; He orders Jesse to kill Gale
09:56 DaemonFC; I would have stood there and done nothing at that point if it was me.
09:57 DaemonFC; So that still doesn't count.
09:57 DaemonFC; <mjg59_> He orders Jesse to kill Gale
09:57 DaemonFC; Gale isn't outright evil.
09:57 DaemonFC; But he is working with criminals and he knew that they were murderers.
09:57 DaemonFC; And that the job came with risks.
09:58 mjg59_; He poisons Jesse's other girlfriend's son
09:58 DaemonFC; Plus, Gus would have brought Gale back after murdering Walt and Jesse.
09:58 DaemonFC; Because Gale could do blue meth.
09:58 DaemonFC; <mjg59_> He poisons Jesse's other girlfriend's son
09:58 DaemonFC; He gave him something he knew wouldn't kill him because he needed Jesse on his side before he could make a move on Fring.
09:59 DaemonFC; With Fring dead, everyone is better off.
09:59 mjg59_; He continues working with Todd even after Todd murders a kid
09:59 DaemonFC; If Walt was going to kill the kid, he could have given him the actual Ricin.
09:59 DaemonFC; <mjg59_> He continues working with Todd even after Todd murders a kid
09:59 mjg59_; Your argument is that other outcomes would be worse
10:00 mjg59_; That doesn't mean his behaviour isn't wrong
10:00 DaemonFC; Walt later kills Todd and Todd's entire family+friends, who are Neo-Nazis.
10:00 DaemonFC; So Walt has killed over a dozen Nazis with the pop-up trunk machine gun thingy.
10:00 mjg59_; Yeah, after triggering the events that result in Jesse being kidnapped and enslaved by said Neo-Nazi gang
10:01 DaemonFC; Everything Walt has done has been either not that bad, justifiable using moral relativism, or at worse, he didn't mean for it to happen and indirectly caused it.
10:01 DaemonFC; So it's hard to really hate Walt.
10:02 DaemonFC; Jesse made off with a lot of money from the Nazi compound iirc.
10:02 *techuser has quit (Ping timeout: 2m30s)
10:03 DaemonFC; As for Hank Schrader and Steve Gomez, Hank was too good at his job, but not smart enough to bring more backup before going out into the middle of nowhere after he knew what Walt was.
10:04 mjg59_; Also Walt doesn't kill Todd, Jesse does
10:04 DaemonFC; Well, I think the machine gun got Todd, but yeah.
10:04 DaemonFC; Jesse finished him.
10:07 DaemonFC; Drugs don't destroy lives. People that choose to use them destroy their own lives.
10:08 DaemonFC; The DEA is to blame for the types that Walt ends up dealing with.
10:08 DaemonFC; If not for the government, then nobody would need to fear supplying drugs to people who are using them anyway.
10:08 DaemonFC; So the police are causing the street violence.
10:09 DaemonFC; So it's really hard to feel sorry for Hank and Gomez.

22:41 DaemonFC; But that's even funnier because at this point you have a quartz GMT watch that keeps perfect time and looks pretty similar to the "Pepsi" Rolex for about $50.
22:41 MinceR; i prefer the ones that keep perfect time and don't look similar to any rolex
22:42 DaemonFC; Some of the older Rolex designs are okay.
22:42 DaemonFC; schestowitz[TR2], Someone dinged the Buick.
22:43 DaemonFC; It's not THAT bad. A small dent that has a scuff.
22:43 DaemonFC; Doesn't go down to the metal, though, so it's not going to rust.
22:43 DaemonFC; Of course.......
22:43 DaemonFC; You can buy a car brand new and watch those start appearing.
22:43 DaemonFC; So that's a nice thing about an old car.
22:43 DaemonFC; They're pre-dented, and pre-scratched.
22:43 MinceR; :>
22:44 DaemonFC; So you don't have to get nervous about something that's gonna happen anyway.
22:44 MinceR; and pre-rusted
22:44 MinceR; i'd rather live where the people aren't savages and don't slam the doors of their cars into my car
22:44 MinceR; unfortunately, i was born in hungary
22:56 DaemonFC; MinceR, Most people have an IQ of "My God, how are you even alive?".
22:56 DaemonFC; If that.
22:56 MinceR; :>
22:58 DaemonFC; MinceR, The truly surprising thing to me is that the world manages to function at all like this.
22:58 DaemonFC; mjg59_, So there's the legal aspects of Breaking Bad, though.
22:58 MinceR; well, it seems it won't function for long
22:59 DaemonFC; I suspect that New Mexico probably has a criminal conspiracy homicide law.
22:59 IPFS; IPFS downstream 60 minutes average 34.13 k/sec., IPFS upstream 215.23 average k/sec., average swarm size 0
22:59 MinceR; humanity's been shitting the bed for millennia and it's starting to fill up.
22:59 DaemonFC; Which means that if Todd murdered the kid, legally they all did because it happened while they were in commission of a felony.
22:59 DaemonFC; The train robbery.
22:59 DaemonFC; The prosecutor doesn't have to prove that they knew it would happen or that they consented for Todd to kill the kid.
23:00 DaemonFC; They only have to show that during the course of a felony conspiracy, a person was murdered.
23:00 DaemonFC; But it would get worse than that for Mike, Jesse, and Walt.
23:06 DaemonFC; After the kid was shot, there's usually other laws on the books that make it a crime to not report a death.
23:06 DaemonFC; They also committed evidence destruction, obstruction of justice, and concealment of a corpse.
23:07 DaemonFC; And defilement of a corpse, probably (the acid).

23:19 DaemonFC; MinceR, This is neat.

23:20 DaemonFC; The Q Timex Reissue has a special thing for the battery that you can open with a flathead screwdriver.
23:20 DaemonFC; So you don't really have to take it anywhere or get special watch tools.
