A Google Ad Points Out Our Existential Problem

This ad is constantly running on youtube on my TV (I just rawdog it with a Roku... Someday I will block ads...)

The protagonist stands in front of the camera, looking confused, holding a knob that fell off his toaster oven. The fear in his eyes is real, as he has no idea how to get out of this situation.

The music is vamping "No... No... No... " in the background, as our idiot hero just stands there, confounded by the knob in his hand.

Over the next few seconds/days, seen by us at high speed, his life deteriorates rapidly. His wife and kids destroy cookies and dinners, because, the knob.

Next scene shows our hero buying a new toaster oven for $239 (Compare to: $300) using Google's amazing technology.

That's what we do when a knob comes off an appliance.

God help us.
