On March 2021, I had recently moved to a new flat - this time, closer to a big city. I had already spent several years looking for a band before, to no success. While bands are relatively common in the area, I could not either find a band that suited me, or was not able to find people with similar interests, and I had been living in a very small town after all.
But this time I felt encouraged to try again. So I decided to visit a somewhat popular website where musicians gather when they look for a band or people to create one. Surprisingly, three people met up in less than a couple of weeks, and started looking for a basement to jam. Then, we met our singer, and moved to a permanent basement where we started to write songs. Then we decided to name ourselves Kovok, which does not hold any particular meaning, but we feel it is easy to spell and remember, and it can be also spelled backwards! :)
Fast-forward to late 2022, we have already written 8 songs, we won a local musical contest and we feel very excited to play gigs soon!
As an early taste of how our music sounds like, I have compiled a few (BEWARE: phone-quality) basement recordings, until some properly recorded tracks are available:
