Yeah... I always use ERE (Extended Regular Expressions) normally, but it appears I made two or three mistakes here:
- I forgot to either use egrep or give the -E flag for grep, which I normally always do.
- The same for sed...
- And for some reason, after years and years of use, I still didn't know that vim doesn't use ERE by default.
The "bug" is discovered is just BRE (Basic Regular Expressions)... Sorry for leading you all astray, and thank you so much to Ruario for kindly and patiently explaining my mistake ❤️
