AV-98 (Fork) Updates
=> I maintain a fork of Solderpunk's gemini browser AV-98 since a while back.
I've just merged a couple of patches I've received for it, and thought I should take the opportunity to mention the features introduced in this fork.
- When a client certificate is active the prompt shows which one it is.
- The GUS search engine is dead since a few months back, and has been replaced with geminispace.info (but the command is still 'gus').
- Since geminispace.info can sometimes be slow to respond the default timeout for requests has been increased.
- One of the patches I just merged introduces a setting for a https proxy, similar to the setting for a gopher proxy.
- The other patch makes the 'tour' command accept reverse ranges, such that 'tour 50-40' will add indices 40-50 in reverse order.
I have plans to add more features, but quite frankly it doesn't have a very high priority on my to-do list. If I receive patches I'll try to handle them with some expedience, of course!
EDIT (2021-08-26): geminispace.info is actually really quick these days. I can't replicate the situation that lead me to increase the timeout on April 27th.
