Happy New Year and all that!

Finally made it into MMXXV, and to celebrate that, I am writing a quick personal update bu means of apology for the lack of activity and the usual supply of homilies.

So first — I am increasingly tied up with parochial stuff and while I do enjoy my current parish tremendously I am also finding it hard to find a better rhythm for my personal life. Hardly been boxing, hardly been writing on Gemini, been posting way too much nonsense on Mastodon, and have been accumulating project ideas and started a number of them for the heck of it.

Plus I've lost my OpenBSD install, twice. Once I managed to delete /dev/sd0 by accident and that reaulted in a lot of gray hairs; and I had no backup because I am stupid. The second time I managed to get a system going again and managed to "build back better", but then immediately also managed to screw up the fstab when poking around in the install ramdisk. But by this time I had half a backup.

But it was surprisingly difficult to get it back all. I wrote a post about it, which I managed to lose. Or just haven't finished? if I find it I might finish it and post it.

Then I had family visiting and I am preparing for some friends to come. We will then have a mini-avalanche of funerals to get through. But I do want a better normal for myself.

At least today I am in bed before 11pm. A step in the right direction I should think.
