Day 10ish of my time in Ireland.
Pretty sure I'm going to breeze by my previous "most days spent in Ireland" record (set in December 2023). I've cancelled my flight home. It feels like I am cosplaying as an Irish person. It's different this time: staying in Blanchardstown and not Dalkey. This is near enough to where I used to live: it's near the shopping centre that I once worked at and shopped at. It's near where Mum lived before I left Dublin (and most of the time that I was gone). It's a place I have sort-of in common with my wife, who lived nearby with me, but who isn't here with me.
My brother and sister have temporarily left, so I'm on my own. My family is 5 timezones behind me, so it's like there's a "dark side of the moon" part of the day when I want to talk to folks but it's an unreasonably late (or early) time and so I feel a bit extra alone.
