I was born in Naples, a city in Southern Italy, but grew up in a smaller town called Giugliano in Campania.
My father was a middle school teacher. My mother was a kindergarten one.
I have two brothers.
I studied in Giugliano until I was almost 18, when I graduated from high school. The specialization of my high school was the study of the classical world, including ancient languages like Latin and Greek. Extensively.
I was raised a Catholic, but abandoned religion completely and my positions may be considered anticlerical today.
After high school, I enrolled in a course in Computer Engineering in the university of Naples.
I graduated after about 7 years (2 years longer than the official curriculum length).
I then enrolled in a Ph.D. program in the University of Trento. Five years later I dropped out and started working as a software engineer.
I've worked for five years as a C++ developer, first for an Italian company, then for a French one, then for a Norwegian one.
At that point I accepted a job in Estonia with a completely different technology.
I got fired from that job, but got hired by another company with yet another set of technologies. To this day, I am still dealing with distributed systems.
Apart from a few remarks, the above is a very dry description of my "professional" life.
