white horizon

black ground

white flowers

black trees

a little white turtle

with a little black tulip

gazed at the cross-hatched moon.

a small, forward step

followed by another

as the turtle wandered

towards the tiny distant pond

a little ocarina

started playing in the distance

as the flower changed its color

to a vibrant yellow hue

and the change surprised the turtle

who had never known a colour

and said "i don't deserve a friend

as beautiful as you"

and so the turtle dropped the tulip.

and the tulip lost its pedals,

and the tulip said "it's funny

cause i saw her the same way"
