=> Retrospring Shutting Down in 2025
Saw when checking in on my small web things that Retrospring (a free Q&A site) is shutting down March of next year, after almost ten years. That doesn't feel like the longest amount of time, but if I were framing it in early-web years, it would be an eternity.
I'm a little sad: as they said on their shutdown page, they were never a company, just a partnership of two people. And rather than selling, and not being able to guarantee what the new owners will do with the data, they're shutting down, and giving a solid eight months of notice, so people can find alternative solutions.
Just incredibly respectful and professional. Good for them. And thanks for the Q&A site, even if in the last year, I've had one, maybe two questions total (the overall silence of the small web is probably best served as its own essay, some day).
