The joy of proximity to a comfortable number of others

Walked to a "dollar store" varietal and back. Minor satisfaction in acquiring things my wife hoped I could. I'll hit a few more such places en route to tonight's overnight destination.

I'm not too thrilled that the checker at the store licked her fingers before digging for my change, prompting an update to:

And now I'm on the hook to wait for someone to deliver things my wife purchased at a charity event a couple nights ago, and hand them the check.

Gosh, it was nice to walk to a store and back. I don't ever want to live in either a large city, or out in the boonies. This current dwelling feels very best of several worlds.
