I’ve been shoveling for days. My hands are quite sore and tired from all of it. I have a fair amount of muscle soreness in my back, my ribs, and my arms. But it’s that good post exercise soreness. I dont know why it feels so good, it’s like when I’ve gone too long without any real exercsie and then I get a bunch of exercise and then this is how I feel the next day. If I could make it more than a day without shoveling, it would probably be gone already.
Despite all the snow, I have yet to get out in my snow shoes! I think my dog would appreciate it for this depth of snow. On our last walk I think he was getting tired of pushing snow with his chest because he started hopping in my foot prints instead of breaking new trail on his own. With the snow shoes I leave a better trail for him to walk in. It’ll be fun to see how long he makes it before he decides he’d rather walk in my trail.
I’m really looking forward to the next walk, it’s windy and cold, but there’s also that winter calm because of how much the snow mutes things. It’s usually fairly quiet here, the exception being traffic in the very-distant distance. But with this snow, that quiet noise of traffic is almost entirely gone. Almost because I still hear the occasional plow trucks or neighbor.
I think more snow is in the forecast. It’s been a good weekend already.
