Chapter 7 mentions that to gain trust in making a decision you should show off your experiences. Chapter 6 mentions having someone else mention your experience for you. But all of it is just to establish credibility in the eyes of the audience.

Showing experience is good for credibility, but not having the necessary background and saying the wrong thing can seriously undermine your credibility. I was recently in a meeting where I advised someone not to ask certain questions because it would demonstrate a lack of understanding of the subject matter.
