Basically act as though the choice you present isn’t the one you want to present because it’s not the best for you on account of the personal sacrifice you are making in providing the choice. I’m sure I’ve seen television shows where some grifter does this to a hapless victim and then smirks about it once they’ve taken the bait, but I can’t recall a specific instance of it.
